Bean to Beverage: Roast and grind cacao into chocolate

2.Bean to Beverage: Roast and grind cacao into chocolate

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 7 reviews · 3 hours · from $115Top rated

At Jim’s Condesa home in Mexico City, you’ll trace cacao from pre-Hispanic ritual to hot drink, then roast and grind beans on a metate. You’ll make six chocolate drinks with ingredients such as chile, achiote, and avocado leaf, finishing with dessert in a relaxed small-group setting.

“Highly recommend! As a family traveling with teenagers and an 8 year old it can sometimes be challenging to find activities that everyone enjoys and this class was perfect. Out host/instructor, Jim, was very knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful experience! We all enjoyed learning about the Mexican traditions of cacao and the international influence of spices and sugar to enhance the beverage. Jim was also very invested in ensuring we have a pleasant stay and made recommendations for local restaurants and other activities. I highly recommend for any individual/group and families!”
